Lari B. Masten, MSA, CPA/ABV/CFF, CPVA, CVA, MAFF, ABAR

Ms. Masten's valuation and practice consulting experience began in the mid-1990s. She is the founder and managing director of Masten Valuation, LLC and National Business Advisors, LLC. These entities offer comprehensive business valuation, forensic accounting, fraud investigation and litigation support services for business transactions, shareholder disputes, damages, lost profits, marital dissolution, financial record reconstruction, financial reporting and tax compliance. She has performed these services for businesses across the US in a variety of industries including exploration and production of natural resources, manufacturing and distribution processes, life sciences, personal/professional services, construction, real estate development and management, and agriculture related service sectors.

Ms. Masten has extensive experience in valuation and business consulting, and is well respected by her peers throughout the valuation professional community.  She has been qualified as an expert witness in both federal and state district courts and her expert witness testimony has been for cases that have involved business valuation, damages, lost profits, insolvency, and loss of business value due to shareholder derivative actions, class actions, environmental remediation, non-performance on distributorship agreements, wrongful conveyance of lease assignments, fraudulent inducement, marital dissolution, and related matters.

She is currently serving as Chairman of the editorial board for The Value Examiner, a contributing member of the editorial board to the Journal of Business Valuation and Economic Loss Analysis, and is an officer of the Colorado NACVA State Chapter. Ms. Masten is also an adjunct professor at the University of Denver, teaching a masters' level capstone course in the valuation of privately held businesses.

Ms. Masten has written numerous articles relevant to her areas of expertise. She has been an invited guest speaker for various organizations and conferences on topics salient to the organization's focus that have covered valuation standards compliance, business valuation fundamentals and advanced topics, litigation, estate planning/wealth retention, marital dissolution and business valuation case analysis.

Ms. Masten is an instructor for the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts' (NACVA) National Training & Development Team for the CVA designation, which is presented throughout the country approximately 18 weeks per year. She is also an instructor and development team member for the preparation course that provides the foundation for the Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF) designation. Ms. Masten has received numerous awards over the years, including the NACVA Instructor of Exception Distinction honor for each of the past eleven years. In addition, Lari is the recipient of the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA) 2011 Best Accredited in Business Appraisal Review Report award as well as the 2015-2016 NACVA Circle of Light Award, which is the highest distinction awarded to NACVA instructors. Of the many hundreds of instructors NACVA has had since 1991, the 2015-2016 Circle of Light Award was only the 18th granted. In 2016 Lari Masten was recognized as one of eighteen Industry Titans: Business Valuation and Financial Forensic Masters by NACVA.
Ms. Masten received a Master of Science in Accounting degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and is a licensed CPA in the states of Texas and Colorado (CO License#21036; TX License#075774).

Ronald S. Bass, CVA

Mr. Bass is a senior associate with Masten Valuation, assisting in preparing business valuations for litigation and consulting purposes. Mr. Bass is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), License #64147, earned from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. 

Previously, Mr. Bass served as the principal accounting officer with Cardinal Broadband LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Roomlinx Inc., a publicly traded company. Prior to the transfer of Cardinal Broadband LLC to Roomlinx Inc., Mr. Bass served as the principal accounting officer for Cardinal Communications Inc., also a publicly traded company, from November 2003 through 2011. He was also chief financial officer of Phantom Group from January 2002 to October 2003; chief financial officer of Knovada from May 2001 to October 2003; director of finance and operations at Vista Travel Ventures from March 1999 to May 2001; and manager administration at Group Voyagers from July 1993 to March 1999.

Mr. Bass brings more than 20 years of executive finance and operations experience, including business valuation; company buy/sell negotiations; complex acquisition integration; equity funding; securities and regulatory compliance; financial analysis; tax planning, accounting system design and implementation; process engineering; and risk management.
